Trinity Health, Muskegon Community College (MCC), Grand Valley State University (GVSU), are proud to announce a newly enhanced associate degree in nursing (ADN) to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.

The initiative seeks to create a vital talent pipeline for nursing graduates for Trinity Health. Through this partnership, Muskegon Community College students who have earned their Associate Degree in Nursing will have the opportunity to continue their education and obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing right on MCC’s campus.

“Muskegon Community College is proud to partner with Grand Valley State University to address the critical shortage of healthcare professionals,” said MCC Dean of Nursing and Health Programs Lisa Gatti-Arnold. “Together, we are dedicated to cultivating the next generation of nurses who will provide essential care to our community at Trinity Health.”

The new program builds on the growing partnership between Muskegon Community College, Grand Valley State University, and Trinity Health, highlighting the recent enhancements to the BSN pathway.

”There is increasing evidence that increasing the proportion of bachelor’s-prepared nurses leads to better patient outcomes and shorter lengths of hospital stays,” said Linda Lewandowski, dean of the Kirkhof College of Nursing. “We are so pleased to partner with MCC and Trinity Health Muskegon to continue to improve the health and well-being of our community through this program.”

In response to the pressing demand for healthcare professionals in Muskegon County, the ADN to BSN program will empower local residents with the skills and education needed to become Registered Nurses (RNs) with a BSN. This, in turn, will enable them to deliver essential patient care to Trinity Health Muskegon.

“This partnership is another example of Trinity Health’s commitment of first-rate health care to Muskegon County,” said Linda Dunmore, Chief Nursing Officer, Trinity Health. “Our organization looks forward to collaborating with these two great institutions and ensuring the success of the students.”
