WHY FOOD PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY?

Muskegon Community College and Michigan State University – Institute of Agricultural Technology have joined efforts to simplify how you can gain the training and education you need to work in the exciting Food Processing. West Michigan has over 15,000 job openings every year related to food processing with over half of those positions going unfilled. Students can earn an MSU certificate while also working towards an associate degree. Students take at least 28 credits from MCC that are recognized by MSU toward completion of a certificate, thus significantly lowering the overall program cost to students.

Graduates of the program will be prepared to safely operate and maintain food processing equipment, perform safety checks, complete product analysis or develop new products in order to ensure the highest standard of quality and consumer safety.
