WHY FISHERIES?

Fisheries technicians, biologists and management teams are continually working to make important decisions regarding how best to manage fisheries. Making scientific, research-based decisions on rearing and stocking fish, regulations for fishing the Great Lakes, inland lakes and streams, as well as how to manage invasive species are just some of the key elements of what Fisheries specialists do on a daily basis.  MCC can help you prepare for transfer into a fisheries related major with a solid foundation in the natural sciences.
