MCC invites community to honor Veterans
Tuesday, November 5, 2024
Muskegon Community College (MCC) and local veteran service organizations will host the annual Veterans Salute on Monday, November 11, 2024, to honor and pay tribute to military veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and service to our nation. The ceremony will take place at the MCC Health and Wellness Center at 221 S. Quarterline Road in Muskegon and is free and open to the public.
This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Terry Sabo, Deputy Director of the Michigan Veterans Agency and former Michigan House Representative. A veteran himself, Sabo, will reflect on the profound significance of Veterans Day and the importance of honoring those who have served in the armed forces.
The ceremony will include a Rifle Salute, Taps, and remarks from local veterans sharing their personal experiences and insights on the meaning of service. Following the program, light refreshments will be served.
“At Muskegon Community College, we are deeply grateful for the sacrifices made by our veterans, and it is with great pride that we gather as a community to salute their unwavering commitment,” said MCC President Dr. John Selmon. “This annual event gives us the chance to pause, reflect, and collectively express our thanks for all who have served.”
MCC encourages community members to join in this special occasion to honor the men and women who have given so much in defense of our country.
