WHY COMMUNICATIONS?

Communication as an academic field relates to all the ways we communicate: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. It also addresses the essential skills necessary for a successful work and personal life. Whether you’re interested in improving your public speaking and relationship skills or you want to have a communication-specific career, MCC has the communication offerings for you. Communication majors may move into fields such as business, advertising, electronic media/radio/television broadcasting, journalism, public relations, theatre and performing arts, government and politics, communication education, healthcare, international relations and negotiations, law, and social services. Many students begin their communication major here at MCC with our courses in Oral Communication, Mass Media, Into to Journalism, Audio Production, Practical Radio, Public Speaking, Intro to Cinema, Television Production, and Social Media.
