WHY ART?

Since 2007, seventeen MCC art students have won significant scholarships totaling nearly $160,000 to attend Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids. These scholarships were awarded based on the strength of their MCC art portfolios.

MCC art students also successfully transfer to many other colleges, universities, and art academies all across the country. These include: the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Western Michigan University Frostic School of Art, the University of Michigan School of Architecture, the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the College of Creative Studies in Detroit, and Grand Valley State University.

Forner MCC art students are now engaged in varied successful careers. These include: architects, studio art teachers, museum professionals, gallery owners, ceramicists, graphic designers, animators, fashion designers, sculptors, digital illustrators, industrial designers, filmmakers, painters, interior designers, cartoonists, printmakers, furniture designers, and art historians.
