WHY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT?

Administrative Assistants play a key role in the effective management and functioning of an office. The functions may include, but are not limited to, understanding social media, document production, interpersonal skills with customers and vendors, and a high degree of organizational, oral, and written skills. This is a very rewarding career that allows you to use your skills to complete projects, organize materials, and manage individuals within a professional organization.

The job description of an administrative assistant is very diverse and constantly changing so you need to be adaptable and flexible in this exciting field. Job titles include: administrative assistant, customer service representative, medical office assistant, legal assistant, school secretary, department coordinator, administrative specialist, information clerk, office manager, and executive assistant.

The administrative assistant program provides you with real-world skills in a flexible lab environment. The program provides the latest information and training in technology used in the office setting. This includes training in hardware and software, communication skills, current business document production, and critical thinking skills. You also have the option to specialize in the Administrative Assistant – Medical program. This program will prepare you to work within a medical setting and includes courses in medical terminology and electronic health records.
