MY BACKGROUND

• Professional Experience: I have been teaching full-time at MCC since 2011, with prior instructing experience at a range of universities and colleges across the country. My graduate research explored how parts of Earth’s crust mix into the mantle, using both computer and lab models. I participated in two scientific drilling expeditions on the ship the JOIDES Resolution. I have experience and continue to do public outreach with students and community members of all ages. Please contact me if you’d like me to speak with your group!
• Academic Degrees: BS in Applied Geophysics, Michigan Technological University. MS in Oceanography – Marine Geology & Geophysics, University of Rhode Island.
• Classes Taught: Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Oceanography, Natural Disasters

MORE ABOUT ME

• I love working with MCC students to help them achieve their goals.
• I think the best thing about MCC is: small class sizes and getting to know your instructors! Such personalized attention and support is not as easy at a large university.
• My advice to new college students finding their path: Every career takes hard work, choose something you enjoy enough to make that work worthwhile!
