Muskegon Community College’s Center for Theater is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of the iconic murder-mystery play, “The Mousetrap,” written by renowned author Agatha Christie. Performances will take place from Thursday, November 7 to Saturday, November 9 at 7:30 PM, with an additional matinee performance on Sunday, November 10 at 3:00 PM. An understudy performance is scheduled for Saturday, November 9 at 3:00 PM.

Debuting in 1952, “The Mousetrap” has captivated audiences for over seven decades, making it the longest-running play in the history of London’s West End. The story unfolds in a remote country house where a group of strangers is stranded by a snowstorm. When one of the guests is found murdered, everyone becomes a suspect in a thrilling tale of deception, intrigue, and suspense. Audiences will be on the edge of their seats as they attempt to solve the mystery alongside the characters. With its clever plot twists and engaging dialogue, “The Mousetrap” showcases Agatha Christie’s unparalleled talent for storytelling.

“The original production of the “The Mousetrap” invented the idea of ‘no spoilers’ long before it became a hashtag,” said Mousetrap Director and MCC Theater Faculty Allyson Paris. “For more than seventy years, audiences have kept the secret of “whodunnit” and now our audiences get to discover the answer for themselves. The tension starts from the first moments of the play, and everyone is under suspicion until the very end!

The Center for Theater at Muskegon Community College, part of the Arts and Humanities Department, offers theater classes for MCC students and a diverse array of performances for the community. The Center aims to foster a love for the arts and provide a platform for creative expression among students and local artists alike.
