Muskegon Community College (MCC) is offering high school students and adults of all ages the chance to win a two-year scholarship to attend MCC during its MCC Expo, taking place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Health and Wellness Center, 221 South Quarterline Road in Muskegon.

The MCC Expo is a free, public event designed to showcase over 80 academic programs, student resources, and financial aid options available at MCC. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with college faculty, staff, and financial aid experts to explore the variety of ways to fund their education. Financial aid programs include Michigan Reconnect, which provides free or discounted tuition to adults 21 and older and the Michigan Community College Guarantee which provides the same for recent graduates.

“We’re excited to host this event and provide valuable information about the many opportunities at MCC, including ways to pay for college,” said Dr. John Selmon, President of MCC. “Whether you’re a high school student planning for your future, or an adult looking to return to school, this is the perfect event to get all your questions answered and maybe even win a scholarship to make your education journey a reality.”

Prizes and Scholarship Giveaway

In addition to learning about academic programs and financial aid, attendees who are present, will have the chance to win several exciting prizes, including: 13” MacBook Air, Insignia 2.0-Channel Soundbar, Beats Solo 4 Headphones, Airpods 4, Galaxy Watch 6, and Apple Watch SE.

At the end of the event, MCC President Dr. John Selmon will announce the winner of a two-year scholarship to Muskegon Community College. This scholarship is transferable and can be used to cover tuition for any of MCC’s 54 associate degree programs or 32 certificate programs. Attendees must be present to win.
