Muskegon Community College (MCC) is proud to announce that its historic golf facility, formerly known as University Park Golf Course, has officially been renamed the Muskegon Community College Golf Course (MCCGC). The newly branded course is now open for the 2025 season, welcoming golfers of all skill levels to experience top-quality play at an affordable rate.

As part of the course’s rebranding, MCC has also unveiled the new Muskegon Community College Golf Course logo, designed by Graphic Design Faculty Kevin Kyser. The redesign pays tribute to MCC’s iconic diamond logo, while giving it a fresh and modern look.
Officials say the course has been a destination for students, staff and community members for nearly 60 years.

“The Muskegon Community College Golf Course holds a special place in the hearts of many, and we take great pride in the memories that have been made here for generations.” said Muskegon Community College President, Dr. John Selmon. “The new name and logo design reinforce our commitment to the Lakeshore; by providing a high-quality, community-focused golf course for all to enjoy.”

The land the golf course sits on came to Muskegon Community College as a donation, with the stipulation that it be developed and operated as a golf course. Bruce Matthews designed the course in 1968 as a nine-hole course with two different tee-off areas so golfers can enjoy an 18-hole experience. The course features a driving range and putting-green as well.

The course is home to MCC’s golf teams, three area high schools, First Tee of West Michigan, MCC golf classes, seven leagues, and three cross-country events. Open from April through October, the course remains a hub for the local golf community.

In addition, MCCGC has also launched a new fleet of golf carts, each adorned with the new course logo, providing improved performance and comfort.
