Abnormal Variations Art Exhibit

This exhibit will be open through December 4.

The exhibition Abnormal Variations displays the work of artists Rose Brauner, Hannah Duggan, and Tesha Merkel. Through a combination of subject matter and work processes, their artwork sparks a dialogue about leaving behind the typical and embracing the unusual. Rose Brauner will be showcasing her creature-based character design work as well as the visual development for her upcoming animated short film, Shroud, which addresses themes of transformation, destruction, and the beauty found in abnormality. Hannah Duggan will be displaying her work exploring digital culture and the ubiquity of the internet in everyday life through a combination of ceramics and new technology. Tesha Merkel will be showcasing the early visual development for her future animated short film The Thing with Claws, which explores a poetic rumination on the instinctive nature of anxiety.

All three artists are art and design faculty at Central Michigan University.
