To inspire youth interest in life and physical sciences, Muskegon Community College (MCC) is pleased to announce the offering of 30 scholarships for students in need of financial assistance to attend the first STEM Camp this summer.
The STEM Camp will be held at the Muskegon Community College – Sturrus Technology Center (STC), located at 388 W Clay Ave, Muskegon, MI 49440. The program runs Monday through Thursday and features activities designed to stimulate interest and learning in STEM fields.
“On behalf of the parents, students, and STEM Camp staff, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to GE Aviation for funding these scholarships,” said Dan Rinsema-Sybenga, Dean of Academic Affairs at Muskegon Community College. “At MCC, we are dedicated to eliminating economic barriers that could prevent community members from accessing our educational programs.”
The camp offers a unique opportunity for students entering grades 1 through 8 to engage in interactive and educational experiences focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Students will have the opportunity to attend a diverse range of programs, including LEGO Engineering, Earth Perks, Stranded in Space, Summer Fun, Planting Seeds of Knowledge, Basic Fluid Power, The Art of Basketball, STEM with Sacred Geometry, Catching Energy Waves, Brilliant Little Readers, Let’s Travel to Mexico, Mindset University, and Engineering Adventures.
“We are thrilled to offer this exciting opportunity for young learners to explore the world of STEM,” Muskegon Community College Associate Dean of Workforce and Talent Development Stephanie Briggs said. “Our goal at MCC is to inspire students and provide them with hands-on experiences that make learning both fun and impactful.”
