$8K Up for Grabs in College Pitch Competition

Muskegon Community College (MCC) is calling on students who have a great idea for a new business to enter its Pitch Competition, designed to inspire and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. This event invites MCC students, ages 18 and older, to present their innovative product ideas, services, or business concepts for a chance to win cash prizes totaling $8,000. The competition will culminate in a live showcase on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM in Room 1300 on the MCC Main Campus, located at 221 S. Quarterline Rd., Muskegon, MI.

“At Muskegon Community College, we are dedicated to training the entrepreneurs of tomorrow,” said MCC President, Dr. John Selmon. “We are proud to offer a platform for our students to bring their ideas to life and contribute to the economic growth of our community.”

The competition is open to all MCC students aged 18 and older who wish to strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and advance their business concepts. Interested participants must submit their applications by Sunday, February 9, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Successful applicants will be notified via their MCC email by Friday, February 14, 2025.

Selected finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas before a live audience of peers, community members, and business professionals. The stakes are high, with the following cash prizes awarded to the top three winners:

  • 1st Place: $5,000
  • 2nd Place: $2,000
  • 3rd Place: $1,000
