2005-2006 MICHIGAN REGIONAL CONVENTION

Beta Xi Xi: Muskegon Community College's chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society received the Chapter Milestone Award for its impressive efforts in chartering a new chapter, attending the 2005 Mock Chapter / Leadership Conference, inducting 39 members, electing officers, and beginning plans for service, leadership, and academic projects all within the two months of its 2005 existence!

Sephram Raymond: Beta Xi Xi's current chapter president was elected Vice President of the Michigan Region for 2006-2007. Sephram gave an impressive speech on the 2006-2007 Honors Study Topic ("Gold, Gods, and Glory: The Global Dynamics of Power"), did an amazing job networking with her fellow Phi Theta Kappans from across the state, and was very gracious during the political rally where her slogan was, "Everybody Loves Raymond . . . and a PTK Hug!" It's no wonder she also received the Mike Sherman Award, which is voted on by all of the candidates for regional office and which honors the candidate who best exemplifies the spirit of Phi Theta Kappa.

Advisors: Kelley Conrad and Jenny Klingenberg, co-advisors to Beta Xi Xi, recieved the Michigan Region Coordinator Award for Outstanding Service as well as the Horizon Award from the Phi Theta Kappa International Headquarters.
