Future Information Transformation (FIT)
Since September 2004, Muskegon Community College has been working hard on the FIT Project to replace our current Legacy system. After a year-long process, Datatel was selected and a contract was signed with Datatel on September 6, 2005. We are pleased to announce our partnership with Datatel because they have been providing services for higher education for over 25 years. They work exclusively with colleges and universities, and more than 60 percent of their professional services consultants have career experience within higher education. We will be joining 13 other Michigan community colleges who have previously selected Datatel as their ERP provider.
An ERP system consists of suites of integrated products that operate from a common database. MCC needs this kind of modern, cost-effective and long-term sustainable solution to provide the means of delivering accurate and timely services and information. The FIT Project is a multi-phase, multi-year project that consists of four phases:
- Phase I Needs Assessment
- Phase II Selection
- Phase III Implementation
- Phase IV Post – Implementation
