Student One-Stop
UNDER CONSTRUCTION STARTING MARCH 31, 2008!
MCC is undertaking a major renovation of the main entrance student services area in 2008. The ultimate goal, once finished, will result in a "Student One-Stop," enabling the student to more easily access all of the personnel and information they need for a successful college experience at MCC.
The renovation is dubbed the "Leap-Frog Plan," due to people and offices moving to different areas of the campus temporarily before moving back to the main hallway.
PROJECT UPDATE 7/2/08
CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES!
Wall stud framing is complete and walls are up! Painting has begun. See the most recent photos.
The new elevator housing is complete and the installation of the mechanism is starting.
The Richard and Anne Kraft Student Life and Alumni Center is being created. Walls are up. The meeting room and offices are in place. Ceiling tile is being installed.
Demolition is 100% completed in the old Library and College Success Center areas. Wall studs are continuing to be installed in the new Administrative Office area (old library) and the College Success Center.
The nursing area demolition is complete. Walls are up. Offices and new lab rooms are taking shape.
During the demolition and into the construction phase of the project, periodic drilling, cutting, noise and dust will be a part of this process. The Construction Crews are very aware of our mission and will remain as flexible as possible in working with the MCC schedule of classes, meetings and activities.
Temporary “barrier” walls have been constructed separating the “construction zones” from the rest of the MCC Campus.

As you can imagine, moving a substantial portion of the college staff to temporary “digs” is a challenge…especially in a facility that is already “space poor.”
We ask your cooperation and understanding in helping make the LEAP FROG plan a success. And remember...these are TEMPORARY moves and the result of the minor inconvenience will be a truly STUDENT-CENTERED Campus.
