TOTS - Student Organization
TOTS (Teachers of Tomorrow's Students) is a student organization at Muskegon Community College that began in January 2005. The club is open to students in the education and childcare fields, or anyone that is interested in children and their welfare.
TOTS Mission Statement:
TOTS exists for the purpose of consolidating the efforts of all students of education, to reach out to all children and help them succeed in every aspect of life.
The GOAL of this organization is to enhance our education by:
- offering our members the opportunity to attend workshops and conferences on childhood issues
- inviting guest speakers to speak to our group on child advocacy issues
- to be active in the community participating in various service learning projects
It is our AIM to:
- afford each member a membership to the NAEYC
- afford each member his or her place at the MIAEYC Conference to be held in 2010
- help with operating the MCC/Pathways,MI Early Childhood Conference to be held here at MCC Spring 2010
- host a TOTS children's activity booth at Mayfest in Spring 2010
