Monday, February 11
Overbrook Gallery Exhibit – “Contemporary Asian Prints” Opening talk and reception by Dr. David Ihrman of GVSU, national authority on Asian prints. From 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Overbrook Gallery.
Free Film Festival begins.
Tuesday, February 12
Political Policy Discussion – North Korea-US relations past, present and future with David Takitaki and Kurt Troutman, Blue and Gold room, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Teaching About China – A Teacher Workshop with Dr. Laurie Gasahl. The MCC Food Service will provide an authentic Asian meal. Teaching materials will be provided. Stevenson Center Room 1206 from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Wednesday, February 13
Global Topic Investigations will explore teaching at Dongbei University in Dalian, China, the practice of yoga and meditation, English instruction in Thailand and much more. Blue and Gold Room from 9:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Information Fair will feature booths highlighting international opportunities for students to study and work abroad as well as cultural differences around the world. Collegiate Hall from 9:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Wild & Wacky Wednesday - 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Martial Arts Demonstration - 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. in Gerber Lounge
Keynote Speaker – Sasamon Siddhiteja-Parker from Thailand, Gerber Lounge at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, February 14
Honors Seminar and discussion lead by Phi Theta Kappa – Caesar Lounge from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
Seminar: Women Researching Women’s Issues – Gender in Asia -- Gerber Lounge from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Friday, February 15
FREE Film Festival concludes.
Events spanning the entire week:
An International Film Series will be available daily free of charge.
International Cuisine will be featured by the campus food service.
International Artifacts collected from the community will be displayed at the main college entrance along with flags representing approximately 200 nations.
