New Student Orientation
The faculty and staff at Muskegon Community College would like to welcome and invite you to "New Student Orientation!"
Learning what to do before you need to do it, and how to get help before you need it, can make your transition into college life the stress-free time you've envisioned. Attending a "New Student Orientation" session at MCC will equip you with the tools you need to succeed!
Have you considered...
- What you will do if you need help in a class? Where can you find a tutor? Will it cost you anything?
- Could you be eligible for financial aid to help with college? Do you know how to find out?
- Do you need a parking sticker to park in MCC's lots?
- How much dropping a class in midterm affect your financial aid eligibility? (The answer may surprise you.)
- What do you need to do before you can enroll in these classes?
- What fo you need to do before you can enroll in classes? And once you're enrolled, how do you go about getting your books and materials?
Learn the answers to these important questions and more at New Student Orientation. We are offering many orientations in March through August.
Please refer to the list below and call (231) 777-0221 to reserve a spot. You can also email your preference to leona.adams@muskegoncc.edu.
Just a Few Reminders Before Orientation
- Have you done placement testing? Call (231) 777-0394 for an appointment
- After testing, see an academic counselor in the Counseling Center (currently in Room 101--after March 25, they will be located in Room 230)
- Registration for all new students will be done in concert with the new student orientations. Reserve your session early for a better selection of courses.
Finally, during your orientation, we will offer a separate program for "Family and Friends." We encourage you to invite your parents, spouse or significant other to attend. They will receive information about the supporting roles they can play in your college experience.
We look forward to seeing you at Orientation!
