Richard Alexander

I am a full-time Instructor at Muskegon Community College. I started teaching at MCC in 1992 as an adjunct (part-time) instructor, then became a full-time faculty member in 2004. I teach General, Applied, and Abnormal Psychology. I've also been an adjunct instructor at Grand Rapids Community College, Davenport College, Henry Ford Community College, and Mercy College in New York.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (now called Stony Brook University) and my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University. I was in clinical practice as a therapist and supervisor for 28 years before switching to full-time teaching. For the first half of my clinical career I specialized in child and family therapy; the second half, in substance abuse treatment.
