MCC Hosts First Annual Fall Open House for New Students on 7 November

Muskegon Community College will host a comprehensive open house for new students seeking more information about attending college on Saturday, 7 November 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This fall’s “YMe@MCC” will feature tours, academic department visits, discussions with faculty, and opportunities for student involvement on campus.

The tours will allow visitors to get familiar with the campus layout, and showcase the Hendrik Meijer Library Information Technology Center, the newly-renovated Student Services area, and the Stevenson Center for Higher Education. Faculty members will be delivering presentations about their departments to help students determine their academic program of interest, and fellow students will be available to discuss involvement in sports and various campus clubs and organizations, like student government, newspaper, Phi Theta Kappa, and other student groups.

In addition, along with food, prizes, and giveaways, potential students will learn the ins and outs of finding scholarships, qualifying for Federal monies and/or receiving financial aid, dual enrollment (taking college classes while still in high school), and assistance in filling out applications.
